Nothing seems right when the smiles fade away,
Were they even meant to be there at all?
The image’s the same, should I take all the blame?
Was I wrong to be waiting to answer your call?
Waking up into another silent day,
Into a world that has forgotten how to smile,
Leaving me a little anxious for a while,
As I begin to understand that no one will come.
There came a time to separate
From cheerful children's play,
And all we did was growing up,
So they could take it all away.
All I have done, struck me back in return,
All I have seen too absurd to unlearn.
Lost at the crossroads, no guidance beyond,
My future looks set, but it's the one I don't want.
No one to warn me that here it gets real,
A little late to reconsider, I feel.
Still with no clue of what it's all about,
By now we all thought we could figure it out.
"It's just a scratch."
-A sentence often used to make me peaceful at night,
This cannot be happening to me, I'm not bleeding!
Again I'm alone, like before I was born,
Screaming for mercy, begging for help.
There's only a shadow of regret that I can find,
Silence awaits where the sun used to shine.
Would you help me to carry this load of mine?
And would it do, if I could take some pain from you?
I'm growing tired of nights spent awake,
Silently waiting for the morning to show.
Watching the scenes of a perfect mistake,
Waiting for End, yet afraid to let go.
There came a time to separate
From cheerful children's play,
And all we did was growing up,
So they could take it all away.
