Walking down the street, minding my bussiness, getting lost in my thoughts.
Suddenly I step on a beggars foot, I fall to my knees, our eyes meet.
He shows no more pain but as much as he suffers every day.
His glance presents me with strange joy,
it's the joy of noticing the omniscient blank grey,
surrounding the poor fellow dumped into the wasteland of culture,
left to silently decay.
I stare, he stares,
we both share at the unexpected
result of an error that made us care.
Just for my personal relief I donate a twenty
no idea how much that is,
but it ain't plenty,
sorry to drag you from invisible abyss.
When I move on,
well my feet keep stepping,
my mind stays by the glance,
not supposed to happen.
What have i seen,
What have I felt,
who was the poor fellow?
Possessing the goods makes you deaf
missing the goods provides you with time
Time is Money they say
so a homeless is richer than any king,
for his time that keeps him broke,
but attention riches get,
versus the unbearable silence of a homeless man.
We are one
Am I to thank him for reminding me,
or is he to silently thank me for reminding him,
of his mere existence.
Are we to pretend, it's all OK,
are we to prolong miseries,
are we here to just survive
OR are we allowed to live.
So tell him you saw us,
because,
we believe he forgot
we are.
